Prologue
The Spirit Realm
Today was the day of the Spirit Exchange Festival. The townsfolk had their tents set up, baked goods filled the air, kites and ribbons danced above the rooftop view and children traded their festival collectibles with one another. This was a celebration of the opening threshold between the realm of Hyrule and the realm of the spirits who protect it. Though spirits are in abundance across Hyrule, they are native to their home realm. It is only during this window, happening once a decade, that the spirits can move freely into either realm. Some spirits may choose to return to their homeland, some will venture out and reside in Hyrule. Within the spirit realm resides two elder spirits of whom have lived for countless generations, and from their ever expansive wisdom, inherited the right to rule their land. These rulers have been invited to attend Hyrule's royal company on the day of the festival; a council with the King, and of course, his daughter Princess Zelda... Stange. Zelda doesn't seem to be in the castle right now, I wonder where she could be?
Day of the Festival
Some ways away from the bustling perimeters of the castle stood a lonesome house belonging to a blacksmith and his young apprentice Link. Link himself is the son of the ranch owners barely a mile south from the blacksmith. He grew up around both families and especially spent a lot of time with the blacksmith's daughter who, in a crazy turn of fates, resides with the ranchers as their extra farm hand. And in an even crazier turn of events, did the two become friends with Princess Zelda.
"I don't believe it! How can you still be asleep? Do you seriously not remember what today is? It's the Spirit Exchange Festival at Hyrule Castle Town." Link's eyes opened sluggishly, when he saw the looming stare of Marilyn cast its piercing shadow over his bed. "Though I should've known. Papa's downstairs laughing knowing you're getting a right scolding from me. Get out of bed already!" Marilyn lept up and began jumping on the foot of the bed.
After much kerfuffle, the two were well on their way to the exciting celebration at the heart of Hyrule.
